Illness: Fight or Die?

I have a question in two parts.
Part 1--
If you were diagnosed with an illness and were given less than a fifteen percent chance of survival, would you accept treatment, hoping to beat the disease, or would you refuse treatment?
Part 2--
What Biblical basis, if any, could you provide to support your decision?

  1. I think it depends on my age. If I was in my 80s or 90s, I would probably refuse treatment. However, the older I get, the younger older ages look to me, so it's difficult to say. I don't know of any Biblical passages to help with the dilemma.

    Interesting question, though.

  2. True, Johnathan. Someone who is 30 might have more reason to fight than someone who is 80. Maybe it should be a three-part question. :)

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
